Iconic singer Madonna shared pictures to her social media that showed her major hair transformation in honour of her mother, Madonna Louise.
Having passed away when she was only 5 years old, she could be seen with her hair in a short brown updo as she wrote, “I missed my Mother so I channeled her…”
Her mother passed away from breast cancer in 1963 when she was only 30 years old.
The singer’s parents had a total of five kids out of which the oldest, Anthony, passed away in 2023.
Her father, Silvio Ciccone went on to marry their housekeeper, Joan.
Madonna spoke about her mother previously in an interview, saying, “I knew she was sick for a long time with breast cancer, so she was very weak, but she would continue to go on and do the things she had to do. I knew she was very fragile.”
She continued, “I know she tried to keep her feelings inside, her fear inside, and not let us know. She never complained … that was the turning point. I think that made me grow up fast. I knew I could be either sad and weak and not in control or I could just take control and say it’s going to get better.”
