Adrien Brody’s girlfriend reveals truth about awkward Oscar’s moment

Adrien Brody had multiple eyebrow raising moments at the 97th Academy Awards, including the one where he tossed his girlfriend, Georgina Chapman, a piece of chewed-up gum.

The Pianist star’s move was looked down upon by almost everyone who saw it, with the general consensus on the internet being that it was disrespectful to Georgina, who appeared to be laser-focused on catching the tiny piece after it was thrown.

However, in an unexpected turn of events the fashion designer has confessed that it was her idea.

At the Family Equality Gala, Georgina told Page Six, “I asked him to do it.”

“I saw him standing there, I could see that moment of panic on his face. He was really like, ‘Wow, I shouldn’t be having gum,’” the 49-year-old stated.

“Give it to me!” she had told Adrien, who was on his way to the stage to make his infamous speech after he won the Best Actor category for his role in The Brutalist.

Notably, the two-time Oscar winner had also recreated his infamous yet viral kiss with Halle Berry, in front of the Derailed actress before delivering a six-minute speech which received an ample amount of hate online.
