J.K. Rowling's fantasy novels, adapted movie Harry Potter, which came out back in 2001, feature Emma Watson as Hermione Granger, while Flick Miles plays Emma’s body double.
Miles was nine years old back then, when the owner of the drama club she used to attend saw her resemblance to Watson and hired her to play Hermione Granger.
Talking with People, Miles takes us back to the Harry Potter era and behind the scenes of a blockbuster fantasy sequel.
Miles said that all the child actors went to school together, often in full Harry Potter costumes, completed their classes and came back to scenes.
She also told about the things they used to do backstage as kids, like understanding sound stages or playing games like hide-and-seek, capture the flag on the remarkable locations.
Miles said that as she was Emma’s body double so it required her to film only the scenes where they didn’t show her face, like over-the-shoulder shots, hand in the library, her back, etc.
When Harry Potter was released, Miles could tell which scenes were hers and which were Emma’s, but over time, she doesn’t have the memory to differentiate her shots.
Although one part Miles clearly remembers about filming Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is when Hermione takes a polyjuice potion and transforms into another student's furry friend.
"They used me for that part, which was a bit different," Miles reveals. "Emma slightly reacted to the glue they used to fix the makeup on. I got an amazing experience working with the creature effects team, and filming that scene was fun."
