Jenna Ortega opened up about her experience working with the The Weeknd in Hurry Up Tomorrow, as well as how the project resonated with her.
The Wednesday actress candidly described her mixed feelings before she began working on the thriller film, which she co-starred and co-produced with the Starboy hitmaker.
At the New York City debut of the movie on May 13, Jenna told People magazine "Honestly, it was quite a strange time in my life, I felt very lost, so it felt very in tune with the production that we were having."
The 22-year-old also commented on how it was like to work with the Blinding Lights singer, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, saying that she felt grounded by the experience.
"To be able to collaborate on a story that is so meaningful and personal to such an inspiring artist was comforting and reassuring," she noted of the film, which is semi-autobiographical in nature.
Abel, who plays an alternate reality version of himself in Hurry Up Tomorrow allowed Jenna to feel seen," which was incredible and very beneficial."
Notably, the four-time Grammy winner had also released an album, titled Hurry Up Tomorrow in January of 2025, as a companion piece to the movie.
The film, which was conceived before the album is set to release on May 16, 2025.
