Sean “Diddy” Combs’ court trial began on May 5 as he made an appearance in Manhattan federal courtroom.
The disgraced rapper is facing multiple charges of violence, assualt, trafficking and racketeering with multiple women claiming to be his victims.
Diddy arrived at the trial wearing a blue blazer where over 600 potential jurors were screened, as reported by People.
During the selection hearing, Diddy’s legal team requested a bathroom break which was initially denied. Later, the rapper asked the U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian again admitting his nervousness, when he granted him the break.
“I’m sorry, your honor, I’m a little nervous today”, Diddy said admitting he is nervous as the trial could possibly change his life forever.
Once the jurors have been selected, the initial hearings of the statements will begin on May 12.
Diddy’s former partner Cassie Ventura is labelled as the “central figure” of the case while other alleged victims’ identities remain anonymous.
The trial will go on for eight weeks and if found guilty, the rapper can be sent to jail for life.
