Benson Boone is definitely gonna have a good time, and won’t be stopped by Coachella attendees who seemed unenthusiastic about his surprise guest last week.

The Beautiful Things singer brought out rock legend Brian May onstage to join him for the rendition of the eternally popular song, Bohemian Rhapsody, on April 11.

However, the crowd seemed unimpressed as the performance was met with a lukewarm reception, which did not go over well with the 22-year-old.

Benson, who had previously expressed his disappointment with fans present at the first set, hinted that the next time he covered the 1975 classic, it would be with a special guest.

He stated before his second appearance at Coachella, “Just wait till you see who I bring up for Bohemian Rhapsody today …”

The Better Alone singer’s highly anticipated guest on April 18 was a life-sized cardboard cutout of Brian playing the guitar.

Benson even shouted out an enthusiastic “Brian May!” after he had sung the first verse of the song.

The Billboard Music Award winner could be seen grabbing the 2D “Brian” which also fell over several times during the performance, but Benson was devoted to “carry on, carry on as if nothing really matters.”

The Sugar Sweet singer had addressed the crowd’s response to his weekend one performance by making a TikTok with the caption, “Me trying to get the crowd at Coachella to understand what an absolute legend Brian May is.”

In the clip, Benson looked clearly annoyed by an invisible audience as he lip-synced the song into a banana “microphone.”

Who is Brian May?

Brian May is an English musician, record producer, songwriter and astrophysicist, who received global recognition as the lead guitarist and backing vocalist of the rock band Queen. He also co-founded the group with the world-renowned rock icon, Freddie Mercury.
