Hayden Christensen will return as Anakin Skywalker

Hayden Christensen is set to be making a return as Anakin Skywalker in season two of the show, Ahsoka from Lucasfilm and Disney+.

The exciting announcement was made at the Star Wars Celebration event in Japan, where it was also announced that Ryan Gosling would be joining the next Star Wars film.

The creator of the series Dave Filoni, executive producer Jon Favreau and star Rosario Dawson sat down at the event to discuss the making of the show and the inspiration behind it.

They discussed the major influence of Hayao Miyazaki’s Princess Mononoke on the series, as well as their love for the character, Ahsoka.

After a short scene between Skywalker and Ahsoka was seen, Christensen walked on to stage, with the announcement of his appearance on the show being made at the end, “There’s not much I can share, but Anakin will be back for season two.”

He famously played the beloved role in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones and 2005’s Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. He also went on to reprise his role in the Star Wars series, Obi-Wan Kenobi.
