Narcos: Mexico alum Manuel Masalva is struggling to survive after facing a health emergency that got him hospitalised.
The 43-year-old actor, who came back from his vacation in the Philippines, is in a serious condition after coming into contact with a bacterial infection.
Upon his arrival in the United Arab Emirates on March 18, the Mexican actor complained about an “internal discomfort and pain which increased by the day,” his manager told Los Angeles Times.
Doctors diagnosed an aggressive bacterial infection that resulted in an emergency surgery on March 26.
However, Manuel was put into a medically induced coma as the condition spread to his lungs one day after the operation.
A GoFundMe page, created to cover the star’s medical expenses, revealed on April 3 that he still “remains in critical condition.”
Support and well wishes for The Secret of the Greco Family lead poured in after his friend Mario Moran pleaded to the TikTok family to contribute any amount for his “brother” citing “huge” medical expenditures.
Later, Mario called everyone to “pray” in an update as now “we just have to wait and trust that he’ll begin to improve in the coming days or weeks.”
