Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan has tragically passed away at the age of 71, according to his representative.
Born Terry Bollea, he was one of the biggest names in the field in the 80s and 90s, going on to cross over into other industries.
Donning his signature red and yellow outfits, entering with “Real American” entrance music, and millions of Hulkamaniac fans, he was the defining figure of wrestling at that time.
He was added back to the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018 after previously being removed for having used a racist slur.
The most famous and decorated woman in WWE history, Charlotte Flair paid a tribute to Hogan, saying, "When I nearly lost my dad 8 years ago, one of the few people who was there for all of it was Hulk Hogan."
Wrestling brand Total Nonstop Action Wrestling’s President, Carlos Silva wrote on X, "Hogan's name was synonymous with professional wrestling, transcending the industry to become an American pop culture fixture. My condolences go out to his fans, friends and family."
Sylvester Stallone and Hogan worked together on the 1982 movie Rocky III, and in tribute the actor wrote that the wrestler was "absolutely wonderful and his amazing skill made Rocky three incredibly special. My heart breaks.”
Vice-President JD Vance also joined in, revealing they had made plans before his passing, "The last time I saw him we promised we’d get beers together next time we saw each other. The next time will have to be on the other side, my friend! Rest in peace."
