Prince Harry’s charity is breaking its silence after the Duke’s shocking exit.

In a statement posted to X entitled “Led by the Mission,” Sentebale downplayed the Duke of Sussex’s role, crediting the staff and local partners for driving the work forward.

“While trustees are key for governance and regulation, and patrons — especially founders — are an honour to have, it’s the people in the field who are advancing the work, no matter what,” the statement read.

Harry resigned as patron amid a boardroom battle with chairwoman Dr. Sophie Chandauka. Several trustees had called for her resignation but stepped down themselves after their efforts failed.

The dispute reportedly centers on a push to focus fundraising in Africa.

Dr. Chandauka fired back with explosive claims of “poor governance, weak executive management, abuse of power, bullying, harassment, misogyny, misogynoir.”

Five former trustees described their departure as “devastating” but said they had no choice due to their “loss in trust and confidence” in the chair.

In a joint statement, Harry and co-founder Prince Seeiso called the situation “unthinkable” and confirmed they were stepping away “until further notice.”

They vowed to take their concerns to the Charity Commission, stating, “We will never forget what this charity is capable of achieving when it is in the right care.”
