Turns out not even prison could hold NBA YoungBoy for too long.
The rapper was released from prison on Monday after serving just under a year behind bars. The release was confirmed by YoungBoy’s friend OG 3Three on Instagram.
The post included a picture of the duo with a caption expressing excitement and joy from OG 3Three.
YoungBoy was originally sentenced to 27 months in prison after his arrest in April 2024 for alleged involvement in a prescription drug fraud scheme.
The White Teeth singer faced several identity fraud and firearm charges, which stemmed from two separate incidents in Utah and Louisiana.
YoungBoy pleaded guilty to charges in the fraud case and entered a no-contest plea for other cases. He received a suspended sentence for identity fraud and over two years for the firearm charges.
After serving 11 of the original 27-month sentence, the 25-year-old walked free from Talladega Federal Correctional Institution in Alabama.
It was reported earlier this year that YoungBoy was scheduled to be freed this July but then the Federal Bureau of Prisons database updated his release date to April 26.
