Ellen Pomep, an American actress best known for playing the role of Meredith Grey on Grey’s Anatomy in more than 400 episodes, opened up about a particularly uncomfortable scene.

Speaking to Call Her Daddy podcast host, Alex Cooper, she recalled the episode where her character had a one night stand with her friend, George O' Malley.

"T.R. and I are such good friends," she explained, "and we had to do a love scene, and we were both crying."

Admitting that it was "so uncomfortable and awkward”, she said that neither of the actors had been keen on filming it.

"He didn't want to do that, I didn't want to do it," Pompeo remarked, "When we filmed it, it was so bad, and then the network said there was too much thrusting."

The actress added, "In your worst nightmare, to have to do it one time— we had to reshoot that shit. We had to reshoot it and do it twice."

"I've never watched that scene," she revealed. "I've never seen it. I don't know how it was shot or covered or how it was edited, but I'm full-on in tears the whole entire scene, and those are real tears."

Pompeo now stars in the Hulu series Good American Family, currently available to stream.
