The latest revelation from Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ex-bodyguard might solve a 25-year-old mystery.
Gene Deal recently had a revealing interview on The Art of Dialogue podcast. The former bodyguard of Diddy mostly spoke about his ex-employer’s legal troubles.
However, Deal also talked about the long-running feud between Irv Gotti and 50 Cent, including the South Jamaica shooting of the rapper on May 24, 2000.
50 Cent was sitting in the back seat of a car outside his grandmother’s house when a gunman walked up to the vehicle and shot the rapper at point-blank range. He was hit nine times and was taken to a local hospital to be treated for severe injuries.
Deal revealed that he was in Mexico on the day of the shooting when he received a call from 50 Cent’s manager asking for help.
Deal also speculated that the late co-founder of Murder Inc. Records, Gotti, could have been involved in the incident.
"I don't know who was behind it, bruh," Deal said. "I know that Irv Gotti and them had put it out there like they was a part of it and they was going to do it that night, the day at the meeting, from their conversations and how they was acting.”
Deal continued, “They had to have something to do with it. And then come to find out that the dudes who did it was working for Murder, Inc."
Gotti passed away last month at the age of 54, leading 50 Cent to make an Instagram post that seemingly mocked his death.
