Irv Gotti, musician and co-Founder of Murder Records, succumbed to a stroke on Thursday, January 6.
50 cent, American rapper, couldn’t hold back his grudge as he shared a controversial Instagram post as soon as Gotti’s health news circulated, captioning: “I wanted him to see my new shows.”
The beef between the two extends back to 1999, when Ja Rule was reportedly robbed by 50 cent. The feud escalated with back-and-forth attacks of all sort.
As hip-hop music producer’s death was confirmed, 50 cent uploaded a picture of himself smoking next to a RIP headstone with caption, “I’m smoking on dat Gotti pack”. Showing humility, he added “nah God bless him…LOL.”
Tributes for the producer started pouring in, where Ye, popularly known as Kanye West, shared an Instagram post with a simple dove emoji, showing his respect to dead artist.
Def Jam Recording highlighted Irv’s contribution in paving “way for the next generation artists and producers” in their new Instagram post.
Born Irving Domingo Lorenzo, the record executive gained popularity in late 1990s as he worked with several artists in his lifetime like Ja Rule, Ashanti and DMX.
He became known for his unique style, dropping several multi-platinum hits such as I’m Real and Ain’t It Funny working with renowned artists like Ja Rule and Jennifer Lopez.
