Gwen Stefani, an American singer and fashion designer, is facing backlash from fans after she reposted an interview with Tucker Carlson and The Chosen actor, Jonathan Roumie.
Retweeting a clip, she wrote, “Wow @JonathanRoumie u r a powerful inspirational human what an enlightening intelligent beautiful interview thank you for being u gx.”
Roumie takes on the role of Jesus in the crowd funded television series, which portrays the teachings and life of Jesus of Nazareth.
He previously played Lonnie Frisbee in the 2023 flick Jesus Revolution, acting as the narrator for Hallow, a Catholic prayer app.
The promotion of the clip came as a surprise to Stefani’s fans, due to Carlson’s far right views.
Comments included sentiments like, “Ohh Gwen becoming a right wing grifter”, “You honestly need a reality check God this is heartbreaking”, “Hard oooooof. Normalize not promoting Tucker Carlson”, and “Gwen is in her Trump era.”
One user admitted that they were finding it hard to continue supporting her because of the post, “Gwen as a long time fan you’re making it harder and harder to keep supporting you please don’t platform Tucker Carlson the Russian propagandist good lord.”
Others were moved to halt any sort of support for her, as one person wrote, “As a day one solo career fan, who has paid top dollar to see your special post-Super Bowl show, Las Vegas residency & all of your solo tours, I am BEYOND disappointed in you; I’m simply done. You don’t owe me anything… but I also don’t owe you my dollars or respect.”
