American actor Nicolas Cage made his first public appearance after assault charges against him were dropped by his ex.

Nicolas celebrated the moment as he attended the SXSW Film Festival on Monday in Austin to promote his new movie The Surfer.

The Ghost Rider star glammed up in a shimmery look for the event as he donned a black suit with a hat and sunglasses to complete the outfit.

The Oscar winner was seen in high spirits as he paused to smile for the cameras at the screening, which will end on Saturday, March 15.

Alongside Nicolas, the psychological thriller, features Julian McMahon, Nicholas Cassim, Miranda Tapsell, Alexander Bertrand and Justin Rosniak.

The plot of the movie, directed by Lorcan Finnegan, revolves around a man who returns to his childhood beach to enjoy surfing with his son, but gets mortified by the locals.

According to IMDB synopsis of the motion picture, “the man is drawn into a conflict that keeps rising and pushes him to his breaking point.”

Why is Nicolas Cage being sued?

Christina Fulton filed a lawsuit against Nicolas Cage, 61, and their son Weston Coppola Cage, 34. According to the claims, Nicolas constantly ignored his child’s mental health and instead supported his behaviour, which led to a physical attack on Christina by Weston.

However, the case against the Lord of War star was dropped by his ex-partner which means she cannot bring back those claims in the future, but the complaint against the Face Off actor’s son remains in the suit.
