Lady Gaga sat down for an interview with Entertainment Weekly, amid the release of her brand new album Mayhem, where she opened up about her cameo on Boiling Points.
Going by her real name, Stephanie Germanotta at the time, she unknowingly became a part of the prank show where people were put in frustrating situations to see how long they would stay calm.
The people who could keep themselves under control for 14 minutes would receive $100. After stepping away to take a phone call at the diner, Gaga returned to see that her salad had been taken away, and was then brought back with trash all over it.
Three years before the release of her first album, the singer quickly told the waitress off, “Who puts that in their mouth? Would you put that in your mouth? It has s*** all over it!”
In the interview, she sheepishly admitted that her reaction had been completely genuine, “That was not acting. That was just so long ago, so embarrassing.”
Also pre-fame, she appeared in a 2001 episode of the series, The Sopranos, “I was so excited to be an extra on The Sopranos. I was so excited to be on Boiling Points because I was, like, gonna be on TV and I was trying to, you know, make my way as an artist,” she explained, “They were just exciting opportunities.”
“I look back on that and I just go — I was so sweet,” Gaga added, “Just imagine me screaming in the bathroom or my dorm room with excitement.”
