Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may be spending Valentine’s Day apart, but that hasn’t stopped the Duchess of Sussex from sharing a heartfelt message for her husband.

Taking to her newly launched Instagram, the 43-year-old Duchess posted a touching black-and-white photo of herself and Prince Harry sharing a kiss, alongside a message explaining why they aren’t together on this special day.

"Back home taking care of our babies, and missing my Valentine, as he continues on at the Invictus Games," wrote Meghan.

She went on to praise Harry’s dedication to his work, calling him “inspiring” and adding that he is “changing lives and reminding all of us of the power of healing and resilience through these incredible veterans and their families.”

"Beyond proud of my husband and what he’s created," she continued, signing off with a personal note: “My love, I will eat burgers & fries and fish & chips with you forever. Thank you for you. #lovewins As ever, M.”

Earlier this week, before Meghan flew back to California from her brief visit to Canada for the Invictus Games, the couple reportedly enjoyed an intimate Valentine’s dinner at Italian hotspot Il Caminetto. According to sources, they spent over two hours dining together before Meghan’s departure.

While no official photos from the date were shared, Meghan was said to be elegantly dressed in a Carolina Herrera cape, Aquazzura heels, and diamond Maya Brenner earrings—which were reportedly a Valentine’s Day gift from Harry last year.

Meghan has long been a fan of Valentine’s Day, a sentiment she expressed in a 2015 post on her now-defunct lifestyle blog, The Tig.

"Hook, line and sinker, I am such a sucker for Valentine’s Day. Without fail, every February 14th, I wake up feeling like I’m immersed in a Robert Doisneau photo, waiting with bated breath to be dipped into a kiss," she wrote at the time.

She added: "Valentine’s Day is special wherever you happen to find yourself. And in terms of gifts, be it breakfast in bed, a sweet love note, or a single flower, it really is the thought that counts."
