Anthony Mackie says it’s hard to ‘trust’ people when dating

Anthony Mackie, an American actor, sat down for an interview with People where he opened up about pursuing romance in the current age.

He admitted that the new level of fame and attention that comes with headlining a project like Captain America: Brave New World makes any plans of dating “obsolete”.

“How do you trust someone? How do you put yourself in a position to be vulnerable? How do you know what someone really [wants] from you when all you want is to just be loved and appreciated? What does that look like?,” he mused.

He added, “I’m older and I don’t do the apps.”

However, the actor wasn’t eager to complain, spending most of his time in his hometown, New Orleans.

Revealing that he enjoys his free time with his four sons, he expressed a special love for game night, which includes games like Monopoly, Uno, Throw Throw Burrito and Throw Throw Avocado.

"It literally becomes The Matrix when you get into this game,” the Marvel star elaborated, “My 12-year-old has figured out a system and nobody can figure out his system, but he wins every single time. He just sits back. He's the big cheese when it comes to Throw Throw Burrito and Throw Throw Avocado.”

Reflecting on being recognized by fans in the public, he added, “I'm not a big attention person. I appreciate the support. I appreciate the idea of people recognizing me for my work, if nothing else. But social anxiety is a real thing. And because of that, I run away and hide. I go to my places where I know people and they take care of me. And I just sit in the corner and put a umbrella over my head.”
