Months after the shocking death of Liam Payne, his girlfriend Kate Cassidy is speaking out about the grief, heartbreak, and regret she has faced since the One Direction star’s passing.

In an emotional interview with The Sun, Cassidy expressed her pain and disbelief over the tragic loss of her boyfriend, who fell from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in October 2023.

"No, I never did think [he might die young]... I just never thought this would have happened."

The American influencer admitted she never would have left Argentina had she known what was coming.

"Love is so optimistic, and you just hope that everything will work out in the end. Obviously, if I knew, if I could see into the future, I would never have left Argentina."

Cassidy, who met Payne in 2022 while working as a waitress in South Carolina, described how his death changed her life forever.

"I'm trying to be the best I can be, but I feel like my life has changed so much. I think about Liam every second of every day."

"That he won't be there with me to navigate through this life, that I'll have to deal with this without him by my side... it's really hard."

Cassidy also recalled the moment she learned of Payne’s passing, saying she went into shock.

"I feel like I just completely blacked out. When I officially found the news out to be true, I felt numb. I tried to call him. I called pretty much everybody."

She revealed that Payne seemed happy in his final days, making his sudden passing even harder to comprehend.

"We were in such a great place, just full of love; he was so happy and positive... you never truly know what tomorrow will bring, you never know."

The 31-year-old singer was in Argentina visiting his friend and former bandmate Niall Horan when the tragedy occurred.
