As Blake Lively navigates her legal battle with Justin Baldoni, her friend and director Paul Feig has stepped up to defend her once again.
Feig, who directed Lively in A Simple Favor, came to her defense after an Instagram user questioned whether the upcoming sequel, Another Simple Favor, had been influenced by the actress.
Following the announcement that the film will premiere at South by Southwest (SXSW) on March 7 in Austin, Texas, one commenter asked:
"Is this Paul Feig’s cut or Blake’s cut?"
Feig quickly responded to clear up speculation: "It’s my cut. There is no other cut. Blake has been nothing but supportive and a dream to work with. She is the best and an amazing collaborator, and I’m her biggest fan. Just wanted to clear that up."
The user’s comment referenced ongoing rumours surrounding Lively’s alleged creative influence over another project, It Ends With Us, which reportedly had two different cuts—one seen by Baldoni and another commissioned by Lively.
With Feig's statement, he made it clear that Lively played no role in altering the final cut of Another Simple Favor and remains a valued collaborator.
