Salma Hayek posted a 15th-anniversary post with millions of fans, however, the trolls made their way.
The Mexican actress, who starred alongside Matthew Perry in Fools Rush In, took to social media to celebrate her anniversary on Wednesday.
With a snapshot of the couple flashing bright smiles, she punctuated a red heart emoji in the caption that read, "After 18 years together and 15 years of marriage, you still make loving you easy, fun, deep and fresh like a gentle breeze. Happy anniversary mi amor."
However, the naysayers dropped several comments under the post, noting that she is with her husband only because of his many.
One user wrote, "Love in his billions [eye roll emoji]."
Another chimed in, "He clearly is a billionaire... It's not fair [laughing emoji]."
Nevertheless, her devoted fans came to her rescue, saying, "It isn’t about the money or the successes Men!!!! You all got it wrong … We Women need not material things but loyalty and compassion and Love which makes us the best version of ourselves….. period. Happy anniversary."
Another fan raved on the couple, who tied the knot on Valentine’s Day in 2009, "I’m in love with this picture, I’m in love with your love story [heart eyes emoji] you both are perfect. Happy Valentine’s Day. [red heart emoji]"
Additionally, during an interview with Glamour, the film producer revealed that she hadn’t got the slightest idea that she "was getting married" on Valentine’s Day.
She recalled her wedding day, saying her family teamed up and "they just took me to the court. My parents, my brother, they were all ganging up on me. I had a phobia of the marriage thing."
Hayek, 57, married French businessman François-Henri Pinault at a courthouse in Paris and renewed their vows in April 2009.
