The royal family's website has just changed Prince Harry's page to remove all mentions of his "His Royal Highness" title.
Express found on Tuesday that the page had been altered to remove the two references to the title after reporting on Friday that the Duke of Sussex was still referred to as "His Royal Highness" in his biography.
Both comments were connected to Harry's efforts in 2016 to spread awareness of HIV/AIDS. Although he did not get his dukedom from his grandmother Queen Elizabeth until his May 2018 wedding to Meghan Markle, the title "the Duke or the Duke of Sussex" has already taken its place.
The website for the royal family has not been fully updated since Queen Elizabeth's passing. Queen Elizabeth was nonetheless referred to as the present queen, King Charles was still addressed as "the Prince of Wales," and Queen Camilla was still referred to as "the Duchess of Cornwall," as Express noted last week.
Buckingham Palace said in a statement reported by the outlet: "The Royal Family website contains over five thousand pages of information about the life and work of the Royal Family. Following the death of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, content has been revisited and updated periodically. Some content may be out of date until this process is complete."
Soon after Prince Harry and Meghan stated they will stop serving as active members of the royal family in 2020, it became clear what would happen to their titles.
When Prince Harry met with Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles at the time, and Prince William to discuss his decision to alter after the Sandringham Summit, Buckingham Palace announced, "The Sussexes will not use their HRH titles as they are no longer working members of the Royal Family."
However, the Duke of Sussex and the Duchess of Sussex would still be used to refer to Prince Harry and Meghan respectively in official contexts.
