Billie Eilish is mourning a personal loss.
The Bad Guy singer announced the passing of her beloved pet dog Pepper in a heartbreaking post on Instagram on Sunday.
"pepper. my life long best friend. i will see you again someday sweet girl," the 21-year-old wrote alongside a carousel of photos with her.
"you made it 15 years you [expletive] beast. :’) i love you. rest easy mama, i’ll miss you forever. this is a really hard day," she added.
The series of photos featured Pepper with young Eilish as well as some snaps with her whole family. One of them also showed the Ocean Eyes singer weeping with the dog’s body by her side.
Since the beginning of this year, several celebrities, including Pete Davidson and Paris Hilton, have had the displeasure of making peace with parting with their childhood pet.
Last month, Davidson made headlines after he was spotted buying a cavapoo at a local pet shop. Besides the internet, animal activist organization PETA also called him out for buying a dog instead of adopting it.
The comedian blasted the vice president of the organization for creating false stories without researching and explained that his family was mourning the loss of their 2-year-old Henry.
"I haven’t seen my mom and sister cry like that in over 20 years. I was trying to cheer up my family," the SNL comic later said in a statement to TMZ. "I was already upset that the store had filmed me without my permission or acknowledgment. Then this organization (PETA) made a public example of us, making our grieving situation worse."
