Zayn Malik, 30, a former member of One Direction debuted Love Like This, his first single for Mercury Records, as his first new song in two years.
The music video, which was produced in New York and directed by Ivanna Borin & Frank Borin, debuted alongside the summer anthem on YouTube on Friday.
Malik tries to win his love while donning a red and black motorbike jacket. Throughout the music video, the couple shares sensual kisses and flirtatious glances before rising into the air at the end.
Nobody Is Listening, his most recent endeavour, was his third studio album and it was released in 2021. Pillowtalk, his debut album, was released in 2016; Icarus Falls, its follow-up, was released in 2018.
Prior to the release of his new single, Malik gave his first in-depth interview in nearly six years on the Call Her Daddy podcast last week. During the interview, he discussed his choice to quit One Direction eight years earlier.
The singer said he wanted to outdo his comrades in starting a solo career and that, after five years together, they were starting to get tired of being together all the time.
"I don't want to go into too much detail, but there was a lot of politics going on. Certain people were doing certain things, certain people didn't want to sign contracts, so I knew something was happening," he told host Alex Cooper. "So I just got ahead of the curve, if I’m being honest with you."
