Marvel’s Runaways just “ran away.”

Disney+ and Hulu no longer provide Marvel's Runways as a streaming option.

The Mysterious Benedict Society and Willow were among the episodes and specials that were announced to be leaving both Disney+ and Hulu in the middle of May 2023.

While Runaways was initially left off of this initial list, Marvel fans found through The Direct on May 27 that it had also been taken off of both streaming sites.

Runaways, which debuted as a Hulu Original series, is now the first Marvel adaptation to be taken off the platforms.

Marvel's Runaways' position as MCU canon is currently in doubt due to its removal from Disney+ and Hulu. Despite being set within the MCU, the events of Runaways have not been acknowledged by Marvel Studios' primary related films and series, similar to how Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. series originally aired on ABC.

Before WandaVision, the first official Disney+ series from Marvel Studios, which debuted in January 2021, there was a three-season run of Runaways.

About the 'Runaways'

The children of various Marvel villains made up the group known as The Runaways, which was founded in 2003 by writer Brian K. Vaughan and artist Adrian Alphona. The team's comic book series lasted 100 issues before ending in 2021.

These comics were adapted for television, which debuted on Hulu in November 2017 and ran for three seasons before being cancelled in late 2019. The show included crossovers with Freeform's Cloak & Dagger series and was based in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
