Brandon Sklenar, Blake Lively to star in adaptation of It Ends With Us
Production of It Ends With Us, starring Brandon Sklenar and Blake Lively, is set to begin later this year, with a release date yet to be announced
Sony Pictures and Wayfarer Studios have officially revealed the casting of bestselling author Colleen Hoover's novel It Ends With Us in their upcoming adaptation.
Brandon Sklenar, who gained widespread recognition for his role in the hit serial 1923, is set to play the male lead, Atlas Corrigan, opposite Blake Lively in the film.
Wayfarer studio is also co-financing the project. The screenplay is written by Christy Hall, who will also produce the film.
Colleen Hoover, Steve Sarowitz, Andrew Calof, and Justin Baldoni are producing the upcoming production with Blake Lively serving as an executive producer.
Justin Baldoni, who is also directing the film, posted the news with a photo of a Deadline piece.
"Ladies and gentleman… meet your #Atlas," he wrote in the caption.
Brandon's breakout performance in the Yellowstone prequel series has already garnered him a significant following, and his role in this highly anticipated adaptation is expected to cement his status as a rising star in Hollywood.
It Ends With Us tells the story of Lily Bloom, a young woman who falls in love with a man named Atlas Corrigan.
Their relationship is complicated by a series of challenges and obstacles, including the reappearance of Lily's first love, and the discovery of a dark secret that threatens to tear them apart.
Colleen has made headlines after becoming a cultural phenomenon on TikTok.
Her hashtag #BookTok has received over 2 billion views, propelling her to become the top-selling novelist in the United States, with over 20 million books sold.
In fact, she wrote five of the top 10 best-selling print books of any genre in 2022 alone.
One of Hoover's most successful novel has been published in 43 foreign languages and was the top-selling print book of 2022.
The book has also been on the New York Times Best Seller List for over 90 weeks, solidifying Hoover's place as one of the most successful authors in recent history.
In 2019, the screenplay rights were optioned by Justin Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios.
Hoover has been working closely with the studio as a consultant on the project, ensuring that the recreation stays true to her vision.
