HBO’s beloved post-apocalyptic drama, The Last of Us Season 2, has received enthralling 2025 Emmy nominations, including Pedro Pascal for Best Actor and Bella Ramsey for the second time.
The 77th Emmy Awards announced the nominees for 2025 on Tuesday morning, July 15.
The HBO hit series earned 16 Emmy nominations for Season 2. The first season received 24 nominations; however, this year's nods set surprising records.
The most intriguing nominee of all was Pedro Pascal, who is nominated for Best Actor in a Drama Series despite his limited appearance in the season.
Pascal is highly praised for his acting, especially in the role of Joel in HBO’s show. However, he appeared in only three out of seven episodes in the recent season.
Meanwhile, the star of the series, Bella Ramsey, was nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Ellie in the second season.
Moreover, The Last of Us was also nominated for Best Drama Series.
Other guest actors from the show were honoured in the Emmy guest actor nominations, including Joe Pantoliano as Eugene, Jeffrey Wright as Isaac, Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, and Catherine O’Hara as Gail.
The other Emmy nominations for The Last of Us include Best Production Design, Casting, Picture Editing, Contemporary Makeup, Prosthetic Makeup, Music Supervision, Nonfiction Short (for a making-of documentary), Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, and Special Visual Effects.
