Shawn Mendes, Camilla Cabello's Coachella 2023 steamy reunion explained

Shawn Mendes and Camilla Cabello fans may have to wait a bit longer before they can see them back together as their steamy Coachella kiss was nothing more than a platonic gesture. 

A source told Entertainment Tonight, that the former couple kept in touch following their split in 2021, and decided to meet up at the star-studded music festival. 

The insider said, "They’ve stayed in touch since their breakup and decided to meet up at Coachella since they were both going."

In a video shared on Twitter the duo was seen having fun and drinking and chatting with friends at Coachella 2023, and in their interaction they were seen holding hands, sparking a potential reunion.

However, multiple sources close to the situation have confirmed that the kiss was nothing more than a friendly gesture between two close friends.

"Shawn and Camila let loose during night one of Coachella and were just having fun," the source added.

"There is still undeniable chemistry between the two and everyone around them can feel it."

Fans of the Señorita  singers may be disappointed to hear that their favorite couple is not back together, but that doesn't mean they can't still enjoy their music.

Their split in 2021 was unlikely the end of their romance as rumors have been swirling that the former couple might be rekindling their past with each other.

The report comes against the backdrop of the Cuban-American singer's breakup with Lox Club dating app co-founder and CEO Austin Kevitch as well as Mendes' split from his chiropractor and girlfriend, Dr. Jocelyne Miranda.
