Rock musician Rick Allen violently attacked by teenager in Florida: Details

Rick Allen has reportedly been assaulted by a commoner in Florida.

According to reports, the 59-year-old has been in Florida with his band Def Leppard to perform a slate of shows.

Allen had gone outside of the hotel he’s been staying in to smoke a cigarette when he was attacked by a teenager identified as Max Edward Hartley.

The Ohio native saw the drummer, ran full speed towards him, and struck him, “knocking him backwards.”

As a result of Hartley’s actions, Allen “hit his head on the ground causing injury,” the police report stated.

The report also mentioned an anonymous woman who came out of the hotel to help the musician and was allegedly struck by Hartley as well.

Before the police could arrive, the teenager fled the location. However, he has now been arrested after he was caught vandalizing cars in a nearby parking garage.

According to 7 News Miami, Allen provided a “sworn statement” to the law enforcement authorities, directing them to prosecute the teenager.

Rick Allen Lost One of His Arms In an Accident: 

During a New Year’s Eve in 1984, the then-21-year-old Rick Allen was driving his car on a country road outside of Sheffield, England, when he suddenly lost control of it.

Reports stated that he was most likely attempting to pass another vehicle at high speed at the time.

After the crash, Allen’s arm was caught in the seatbelt and eventually was severed from his body.
