Camila Mendes and Jenna Ortega are teaming up.
The sensational duo is set to lead an upcoming A24 drama titled, ALBA.
The news was first reported by Geek Vibes Nation, which revealed that the film is an adaptation of a play by Federico Garcia Lorca called The House of Bernarda.
“The story modernizes the play by setting it on the outskirts of Miami. After the death of her husband, Bernarda Alba puts her daughters under a rigorous, traditional mourning,” they reported.
The film will reportedly begin filming this summer under Margot Robbie’s production label, LuckyChap Entertainment, alongside Mendes.
Top Gun: Maverick star Danny Ramirez will also star in the film.
The newcomers quickly made their mark by starring in Netflix’s hit series with Ortega showing off her immaculate talent in mystery thriller Wednesday, where she played the eponymous character: the famous daughter of the infamous Addams Family.
Meanwhile, since making her debut in 2018, Mendes has solidified her place in the industry by starring in renowned films and series, including The Perfect Date, The New Romantics, Do Revenge, and the sci-fi series Riverdale.
