Bella Poarch held the status of the most-liked post on social media until Lionel Messi swooped in
Football star Lionel Messi’s 2022 FIFA World Cup win has become one for the history books after the sports star’s viral Instagram post, celebrating the win, became the most liked social media post of all time.
The photo, where the Argentinian star posed with the golden trophy after the team’s historic win over France, garnered over 64.3 million likes at the time of writing.
Not only did this become Instagram’s most liked photo, it went on to become the most liked post across every social media platform with it recently beating TikTok star Bella Poarch’s viral M to the B video which garnered over 60 million likes.
It also surpassed Twitter’s most-liked post which was the announcement of Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman’s tragic passing that got over 7 million likes.
The World Cup photos have also crossed YouTube’s most-liked video, the hit music video Despacito, that currently has 50 million likes.
