‘House Of The Dragon’ showrunner Ryan Condal extends his role with HBO

'House Of The Dragon' Ryan Condal has become the sole showrunner of the series

House Of The Dragon after a successful first season has been renewed for a second season and the showrunner has extended the deal with HBO.

The showrunner, Ryan Condal was signed by HBO for his roles in the making of the series on the basis of which House Of The Dragon received straight-to-series series orders in 2020.

Ryan Condal served as the co-creator with author George R.R. Martin, as well as writer, executive producer, and co-runner for season one.

According to Deadline, on October 7, Condal has been confirmed to be the sole showrunner for the second upcoming season of House Of The Dragons.

Francesca Orsi, EVP, HBO Programming, Head of HBO Drama Series and Films said, "Ryan Condal is a singular talent. He has a magnificent ability to tell stories, build worlds, and shape character, as well as deep passion and respect for George R.R. Martin’s universe."

She continued, "The years we’ve spent collaborating with him on House of the Dragon have affirmed our desire to expand our partnership with him now and in years to come."

House Of The Dragon debuted in August with the highest ratings and audience for an original series in the history of HBO. The show has on average of 29 million viewers per episode in the U.S.
