Kate Middleton made headlines with her respectful attire and a sentimental tribute to the Queen during her funeral.

The Princess of Wales decked out in a black low-cut coat, heels of moderate height, and a black veiling headpiece. 

Following the royal tradition, she chose a piece of jewelry that hit a little closer to home. She wore the late monarch’s Bahrain pearl drop earrings, crafted from a cache of seven pearls that the then-Princess Elizabeth received from Hakim of Bahrain on her wedding day in 1947.

The 40-year-old royal adorned her tribute by wearing the four-strand pearl and diamond choker that the Queen got modified using pearls gifted to her by the Japanese government in the ’70s.
