Twitch streamer Macaiyla in trouble for xenophobic comments

Macaiyla has been a popular name on the streaming site, Twitch – but not for a good reason.

The site recently banned her for two weeks on the streaming platform for potentially unknown reasons.

This makes the third time the streamer has been banned since joining in July 2019. 

The ban was first reported by StreamerBans on Twitter. Many fans speculated different reasons for the ban – one of them being the anti-Asian comments recently made by the streamer. However, the League of Legends streamer denied the speculations and explained the reason for her ban in a series of since-deleted tweets. 

"I was liked to a British vocab quiz on Merriam-Webster. After finishing the quiz, I proceeded to call British people ‘disgusting sounding r—s. I continued on a rant about how I do not want to hear British people talk ever again. That is why I was banned. Apologies British folks," Macaiyla said.

In another deleted tweet, Macaiyla continued, "I think someone there might’ve just wanted me banned."

However, the ban was lifted after one week.

The streamer has an unvarying pattern of inciting angry reactions from the fans and has previously been called out multiple times for her ‘edgy’ tweets and behavior. She has also been under a lot of fire for her potentially harmful statements about Asians, after she got back from her visit to South Korea.
