Laura Hamilton has spoken of the emotional toll of witnessing a teenager's fatal accident at sea while filming overseas, revealing the traumatic incident has left her unable to sleep.

The A Place in the Sun presenter shared an emotional video on social media, explaining that she had gone to a nearby beach after finishing work when she encountered a large crowd gathered along the shoreline.

At first, Hamilton said she was unsure what had happened before learning that emergency responders were trying to save the life of a 19-year-old boy.

Despite efforts to resuscitate him, the teenager died at the scene, as per Daily Mail.

Hamilton admitted the experience has continued to haunt her, saying she managed only a few hours of sleep as images of the tragedy replayed in her mind.

She described the incident as deeply upsetting and said her thoughts immediately turned to the young man's family, adding that she could not begin to imagine the pain they are facing.

Moreover, the television presenter, who is a mother of two, also used the opportunity to urge holidaymakers to exercise caution around the sea during the busy summer period.

She encouraged parents to remain vigilant and reminded adults that the water can be unpredictable regardless of age or swimming ability.

Reflecting on the ordeal, Hamilton said the tragedy served as a stark reminder that life can change in an instant.

As per the outlet, she urged people to cherish their loved ones and appreciate every moment, noting that no one knows what tomorrow may bring.
