Aaron Lee Tasjan breaks silence after fans walk out during concert performance

Singer-songwriter Aaron Lee Tasjan has addressed the recent incident in which several audience members reportedly walked out during one of his live performances saying he respects differing opinions and believes music should encourage conversation.

According to reports around eight concertgoers left the venue while Tasjan was performing his 2016 song I Love America Better Than You a track known for its socially reflective lyrics and commentary on American identity.

Rather than criticising those who chose to leave Tasjan responded with a measured statement stressing that audiences are free to react to his music in their own way.

"I don't think that everyone in my audience is supposed to agree with my songs," he said adding that meaningful art is not always designed to make listeners feel comfortable.

The singer explained that music has the power to entertain, heal and inspire but can also challenge people to think differently.

"If a song makes people question their beliefs or think of important issues, then it's done something important, even if not everyone wants to hear it," he said.

Tasjan also clarified the message behind I Love America Better Than You saying the song was never intended as an attack on any political group or individual.

Instead he described it as a reflection on society that encourages listeners to think about the country, personal responsibility and shared values.
