Sherri Shepherd takes on Kelly Clarkson in Daytime Emmys showdown

Kelly Clarkson and Sherri Shepherd are heading for one last high-profile showdown after both seeing their daytime TV chapters come to an end.

The former talk show rivals have landed nominations at the 2026 Daytime Emmy Awards, with Kelly's The Kelly Clarkson Show and Sherri's self-titled programme both bowing out before this year's ceremony. 

Despite their exits, the pair remain firmly in the spotlight as they compete for one of daytime television's biggest honours.

The 44-year-old singer has secured a double nomination, earning recognition for both Outstanding Daytime Talk Series and Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host. 

Sherri is also in the running for the coveted host award after her show was cancelled earlier this year.

They face stiff competition from Tamron Hall, Jennifer Hudson and The View panel, including Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro.

Meanwhile, The Kelly Clarkson Show will battle it out for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series against The View, Today with Jenna and Friends, Live with Kelly and Mark, 3rd Hour of Today and The Drew Barrymore Show.

Soap stars are also set for a fierce contest, with Beyond the Gates actresses Karla Mosley and Tamara Tunie among the nominees for Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series, alongside Days of Our Lives favourite Stacy Haiduk, The Young and the Restless star Michelle Stafford and The Bold and the Beautiful actress Heather Tom.

On the men's side, Scott Clifton, Thorsten Kaye, Eric Braeden, Christian Jules LeBlanc and General Hospital favourite Steve Burton are all in contention.

It's worth noting that the winners will be revealed when the 2026 Daytime Emmy Awards take place in Hollywood on October 30, with the ceremony's host still to be announced.
