Millie Bobby Brown is back as the brilliant young detective in Enola Holmes 3.
Notably, this time it's her biggest case begins just moments before she is due to walk down the aisle.
After a four-year break, the hit Netflix franchise returns with Enola preparing to marry Lord Tewkesbury, played by Louis Partridge.
Unfortunately, her dream wedding is thrown into turmoil when Dr Watson, portrayed by Himesh Patel, arrives with shocking news that Sherlock Holmes has been kidnapped.
Instead of saying "I do", Enola is forced to race across Malta, piecing together clues involving missing gold, military secrets and the shadow of the British Empire.
While the mystery itself doesn't quite reach the heights of the previous films, the movie makes up for it with stronger emotional stakes and a noticeably darker tone.
Real historical themes are woven into the story, giving Louis his biggest and most dramatic role in the franchise so far.
The Stranger Things star once again shines in the title role, effortlessly balancing Enola's trademark fourth-wall-breaking humour with newfound maturity.
Sharon Duncan-Brewster also makes a memorable impression as Moriarty, finally stepping into the spotlight after being teased earlier in the series.
Fans may wish Henry Cavill had more screen time as Sherlock, but Himesh Patel's charming Dr Watson brings fresh energy and shares some of the film's best moments with Tewkesbury.
Enola Holmes 3 doesn't reinvent the formula, but it proves there's still plenty of life left in the franchise.
For fans craving another clever mystery led by Brown's charismatic detective, this latest chapter is an entertaining return.
