Savannah Guthrie posts emotional Instagram plea for mother Nancy

Savannah Guthrie has shared a deeply emotional appeal as the search continues for her missing mother, Nancy Guthrie, who vanished earlier this year in a case now being treated as a suspected kidnapping.

The 84-year-old disappeared from her home in Arizona on February 1, leaving her family and authorities scrambling for answers in a case that has gripped attention in the US. 

Police have confirmed that no suspects have yet been identified, but investigations remain active with both local law enforcement and the FBI involved.

Over the weekend, a visibly heartbroken Savannah took to Instagram to express her anguish, posting a religious image of Jesus’ ascension with the words.

“Oh my, my soul it cries out.” Beneath the image, she added a simple but devastating message: “Bring her home,” followed by a red heart emoji.

According to reports, alleged ransom notes were also sent to local media outlets, fuelling fears that Nancy may have been taken against her will.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has said officers are “working hard to get this resolved,” adding that investigators are “getting closer” as they continue to examine evidence. 

However, he admitted there is still “way too much work to be done”.

The US broadcaster has previously spoken about the emotional toll the disappearance has taken, even revealing she has at times felt a spiritual sense of acceptance, believing her mother may no longer be alive.
