Brandi Glanville reveals that she was forced to spend more than $10,000

Brandi Glanville is opening up about a costly post-divorce financial dispute with her ex-husband Eddie Cibrian, claiming she spent thousands of dollars just to regain access to her own retirement funds.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum said she was forced to hire legal help to recover her 401(k) after her split from Cibrian, alleging that the actor initially resisted handing over the account during their divorce proceedings.

Speaking on her podcast, Glanville explained that the process involved a qualified domestic relations order (QDRO), a legal mechanism used to divide retirement assets between divorcing spouses. 

Moreover, she said the dispute stretched on for roughly a year before she was able to secure the funds in her name.

According to Glanville, the legal fight ultimately cost her more than $10,000 in attorney fees and administrative expenses. 

As per Daily Mail, she expressed frustration over what she described as unnecessary resistance during what should have been a straightforward division of marital assets.

Glanville and Cibrian were married in 2001 and finalized their divorce in 2010 following a highly publicized separation. 

Furthermore, the former couple share two sons, Mason and Jake, and have continued to co-parent in the years since their split.

The reality star also used the discussion as a broader warning about financial preparedness, advising others—particularly those in long-term relationships—to ensure they have full knowledge of shared assets and retirement accounts before and during divorce proceedings.

Additionally, Cibrian has not publicly responded to Glanville’s latest remarks. 

The pair’s separation, which followed allegations of infidelity involving Cibrian and singer LeAnn Rimes, has remained a recurring topic in Glanville’s public commentary over the years.
