Taylor Swift’s 2024 Vienna Eras Tour concerts are under renewed attention after a man was sentenced over a terror plot linked to the shows.
As per latest findings, the man involved in the case has been found guilty and handed a fifteen year prison sentence.
According to BBC, the convicted man, identified as Beran A., was accused of plotting an attack on the concerts shortly before the shows were set to begin.
He was also accused of seeking weapons, with bomb making materials reportedly recovered during a search of his apartment.
The suspect admitted guilt at the beginning of the trial and later expressed remorse in court, saying — "I would just like to say that I am sorry."
The scale of what was being planned was alarming, as Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer said, "The suspects actually had very specific and detailed plans to cause a tragedy on the scale of Paris, Manchester or Moscow."
CNN also reported that investigators examined claims the suspects considered using fake police vehicles to target fans outside the venue, along with plans involving explosives inside the stadium.
Swift was forced to cancel her Vienna performances at Ernst Happel Stadium after officials confirmed credible threats linked to the planned attack.
Meanwhile, Barracuda Music later confirmed the cancellation, citing government confirmation of the terror threat.
