Ella Bright breaks silence on 9-year age gap with co-star Belmont Cameli
Ella Bright has shut down concerns over her nine-year age gap with Belmont Cameli.
The 19-year-old actress insisted that she felt nothing but support while filming the steamy university drama Off Campus.
Ella stars as music student Hannah Wells opposite Belmont, who plays hockey heartthrob Garrett Graham in the hit adaptation of Elle Kennedy’s bestselling romance books.
But while some fans raised eyebrows over the age difference between the co-stars, she says there was never any awkwardness behind the scenes.
Speaking on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, the rising star admitted she understands why viewers might question it, but stressed she always felt “completely good” on set.
“I get people’s concern, but not once did I feel left out from being younger than everybody, Ella said.
“We’re all such a family, and everyone was just more than perfect.”
The actress also revealed she knew exactly what she was signing up for before cameras even started rolling, saying the chemistry reads and auditions made the show’s romantic tone crystal clear.
She explained that she “immediately fell in love” with Hannah and the scripts, adding there was “never a question” about taking the role.
Malory Towers star also praised showrunner Louisa Levy for making sure the cast fully understood how intimate scenes would be handled before filming began.
She revealed different levels of nudity were discussed depending on each character’s storyline, saying it reflected their personalities rather than simply adding shock value.
The sizzling campus drama, which follows fake lovers Hannah and Garrett falling for real, has already proved a huge hit for Amazon Prime Video, with a second season confirmed months before the first even premiered.
