Katie Holmes opens up about insecurities in honest new video

Katie Holmes has opened up about her surprisingly down-to-earth beauty routine.

The 47-year-old actress admitted that she still leans heavily on her makeup artist for even the basics.

She appeared fresh-faced in a new Instagram video, where she walked fans through her morning makeup steps.

Despite her Hollywood status, the Dawson’s Creek star confessed she keeps things “very minimal” day to day because she doesn’t feel especially confident with makeup.

Katie laughed that she is still very much a “’90s kid” at heart, suggesting her beauty habits haven’t quite kept up with the times. 

Batman Begins actress revealed her longtime makeup artist Genevieve is still giving her lessons, even on something as simple as blush. 

“I’m in my 40s and I’m still learning,” she admitted, explaining Genevieve advises her to use just a “little dot on the nose… like salt when you’re cooking”.

She also praised her Broadway co-stars Zoey Deutch and Michelle Wilson, crediting them with helping her refine her brows during their run together in Our Town. 

“I’d go and ask, ‘How did I do on my brows?’” she said, joking she usually only manages “one good night of brows”.
