Stephen Colbert has taken a dig at the CBS network in his final episode on air, after they announced its cancellation last year.

The talk show host’s May 21st episode was a star-studded affair featuring a number of celebrities including the legendary singer Paul McCartney with the dig at the broadcast network occurring during The Late Show’s segment ‘Meanwhile.’

In it, the host would poke fun at news headlines and he explained un at news headlines, Colbert explained that the owner of the music of a Charlie Brown Christmas and other Peanuts television specials have filed lawsuits against those illegally using Linus and Lucy.

Stephen subtly warned his band Great Big Joy Machine and it’s leader Louis Cato against it but they began playing it regardless, "Excuse me, Louis, is the band, is the band right now playing the same Peanuts music that I just said people are being sued for, for using without permission?”

Louis replied with a yes, to which the comedian said "Oh no, I hope this doesn't cost CBS any money’" referring to the reason the network gave for The Late Show being taken off air.
