Michael Jackson's biopic, in which his nephew, Jaafar Jackson, did an impeccable work, is set to get a sequel.

For the long-time lovers of the legendary crooner, the news comes with the waves of happiness after the hit documentary, Michael.

Although the said movie, which was released on April 22, 2026, was made for commercial success and the goal was fulfilled, fans expect the anticipated sequel to highlight all phases of the late chart-topper.

The announcement was made by the executive via Variety, who said, "All the conversations that we’ve been having with all of the appropriate parties continue to go exceptionally well."

The Lionsgate chairman, Adam Fogelson also added, "Much of the biggest and most popular parts of his music catalogue were not touched upon in the first film."

"There are so many other events that happened, even in the timeframe of the original movie, that weren’t touched upon, so we’re very, very confident that we’ve got an incredibly entertaining movie that will appeal once again to a global audience as the pieces come together." he concluded.

Assuring that they can go back and forth in the story-telling, the move was also a smart move as the biopic was criticised by the daughter of the Billy Jeans hit maker, Paris Jackson.

The 28-year-old showed her disappointment when she was asked by the fans as to why she is not participating in the project and revealed that it is not the truth.
