Lizzo is setting the record straight on the meaning behind her Instagram handle after a fan’s viral misunderstanding.
On Thursday, May 21, the 38-year-old responded on X after a user admitted they had misread her username.
"just found out lizzo’s instagram name is lizzo be eating and not lizzo beating," the X (Formerly Twitter) user wrote, alongside a screenshot of her IG profile.
Following the post, the Grammy winner shared the backstory behind the username, writing, "Fun Fact: I started my ig as a food blog when I was broke so I could eat for free but then my music blew up."
On the workfront, last month the singer marked her 38th birthday by announcing her upcoming album, BITCH.
She said at the time, "Reclaiming the word Bitch is power. It’s taking a label once used to diminish women and turning it into a declaration of confidence, and unapologetic self-love."
Moreover, she shared, "It was only fitting to name my album Bitch because it has become my favorite word when using it on my own terms, and because I am 100% that bitch!"
Notably, BITCH is set to debut on June 5.
