Timothée Chalamet has found himself at the centre of yet another showbiz storm, but this time, it’s his mum stepping in to set the record straight.

The 30-year-old actor recently sparked outrage after claiming that “no one cares about” ballet or opera during a public panel discussion with Matthew McConaughey earlier this year.

The comments triggered fury among performing arts fans, especially after a clip resurfaced showing a young Timothée appearing in a childhood ballet production of Romeo and Juliet.

But now his mother, former ballerina Nicole Flender, has insisted the Dune star never actually took ballet lessons at all.

“Timmy didn’t take ballet classes. My daughter did,” she revealed, shutting down speculation once and for all.

“Timmy did his own dancing. He was a rap artist at high school, so he did his own thing.”

The Marty Supreme actor had already tried to soften the blow after his controversial remarks, joking, “I just lost 14 cents in viewership.”

But the backlash only grew louder after he admitted he spent much of his childhood backstage at the New York City Ballet thanks to his family’s deep ties to dance.

Even Oscar winner Charlize Theron weighed in, branding his comments “reckless” during a fiery interview with The New York Times.

“Dancers are superheroes,” she blasted.

“AI might be able to do Timothée’s job one day, but it will never replace a person dancing live on stage.”

Despite the criticism, Timothée has yet to publicly respond to Charlize’s stinging takedown.
