Hilary Swank’s emotional family confession leaves fans touched

Hilary Swank has shared a heartwarming glimpse into her life as a mum of twins.

The 51-year-old Oscar winner said that having children later in life has allowed her to be far more “present” than she ever imagined.

She welcomed a son and daughter with her husband Philip Schneider in April 2023, when she was 48, after freezing her eggs years earlier in preparation for motherhood.

Speaking candidly, the Million Dollar Baby star admitted timing changed everything for her.

She explained she likely would have been a very “different parent” had she become a mum during the peak of her Hollywood career, when work demands were at their highest.

“It just worked out that I had babies this much later in life,” she said. 

“It wasn’t that I didn’t want them earlier… I can really take time to be with them.”

Hilary says she now feels she gets “extra Mother’s Days” simply through everyday moments with her twins.

Freedom Writers star added that her current stage in life allows her to “step in and step out” of work more freely.

Furthermore, she also reflected on the personal growth she went through before becoming a parent.

The Next Karate Kid actress said she had already done “a lot of work” on herself. 

While she admits she is far from perfect, she feels better equipped to handle challenges without feeling overwhelmed.
