Hilary Swank learns life-changing lesson after becoming a mother

Hilary Swank recently opened up about the life-changing lesson she learned after becoming a mother.

The Million Dollar Baby star, who shares twins with husband Philip Schneider, spoke to PEOPLE and revealed she loved to see her kids appreciating the small things in life.

“I really like watching them learn about the world and being reminded that they don't have any pre-context of anything,” explained the 51-year-old.

Hilary noted that her kids “see something and we have this predisposed idea of everything that we come into contact with because of what we've learned, or how we've read about it, or how someone taught us”.

However, these kids don’t think that way, which is why, it makes them question so many of the things.

Elsewhere in the interview, the Freedom Writers actress talked about balancing work and motherhood.

Despite being a busy working mom, Hilary shared that she worked hard to “stay present with her twins”.

“It's much harder than one would think… I think that that is such a good reminder when you feel how good it feels to really be in the moment and be present with people without having those stressors,” pointed out the Ordinary Angels actress.

Meanwhile, Hilary added that she doesn’t want to “lose sight of that”.
